This unit has covered 'teaching special groups'. More specifically it discussed teaching beginners or young learners and the special techniques/methods needed for each group. For example a group of young learners aged 4-5 years old will need more variety in the lesson and lots of visual aids and even some slapstick element to keep their attention. The teacher must speak clearly and slowly, often repeating sentences and instructions. Activties should be simple and not too long, like singing nursery rhymes. The unit also covered teaching business english and that it is not a requirement to have studied 'business' in order to teach the relevant language. It is however important to learn the student's industry in order to focus on the correct vocabulary. For example if a learner needs specific vocabulary for drawing up contracts and entering into negotiations.
