This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit, I learned about gestures and language. Learning about where to sit students is something that I already knew but the different language times and the time that a student and teacher have is very necessary (TTT versus STT). The horseshoe or circle seating arrangement is my favorite to sit students, but I now know that it does not work for all classrooms. As well as writing on the board, dedicating your time to the students will allow them to learn in a more productive way. May times, while on the board, your TTT may not be as well as it should be and you may be explaining verbally more than you should. I think that this Unit helped me a lot because it helps you understand that not only being a teacher and taking over class, the students need to have their time speaking and you also become a learner of their needs.
