This lesson helped me understand the importance of evaluating students in the class. It also gave me an idea of different tests that are available and the different stages where these tests can be conducted to help the teacher understand the level of language of students, problem areas in the lesson to the students, progress of the students etc.
The list of external tests in the unit provided me a general idea of the different external English tests available that the students may need for various reasons.I appreciate that this unit reflects again on the teaching methods and associates the theory to practice in a very straightforward and easy to understand manner. It was helpful to see the examples of the ESA teaching methods put to use for the purpose of teaching new vocabulary and new language skills. I believe that this lesson gave me more confidence about my potential as an educator by adding to my teaching toolbox. I hope to find ways to apply some of these sample lessons for a lesson on grammar rules!
