This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This was the most technical unit I have studied so far. It lends a good perspective on the intricacies of reading and speaking English. The breakdown of the rules is something I take for granted as a native learner. Of course, I didn't know phonemics before studying the sheet, but in practice, I know this rules. It's an ability that, formerly, I could not explain ... But now as a teacher, I will have to able to explain what happens to the mouth when certain sounds are formed. I anticipate teaching intonation and stress to be less challenging than the pronunciation rules for certain words that appear similar when written. I imagine body language, gesturing and tone of speech will guide new learners who do not have a full grasp of intonations when communicating because those mechanisms can help facilitate expressions better than perfect intonation.
