This unit discussed Receptive Skills. Receptive skills include reading and writing while productive skills include speaking and writing. There are various reasons for teaching reading and listening such as for a specific reason or to achieve a goal, or for entertainment. This unit also talked about some problems with reading and listening that a teacher may come into and ways to solve those problems. It also discussed topic selection and the basic keys for creating a successful lesson.This unit was in my opinion the most important and influential unit yet. This unit really gets into the actual lesson planning process and how to effectively plan out a class or a series of classes. It gives pointers on how to be organized what to expect, and what is appropriate for different sections of the class. It gives an example lesson plan that is incredibly insightful and truly gets one's creative juices flowing. This unit really gives a taste of what it's like to be a teacher.
