Teaching receptive skills is very important in teaching any language, or in any classroom learning. If you understand that it has to be purposeful and it is for entertainment , than teaching receptive skills can be quite entertaining training and fun for you as well , as the teacher. You need to make sure that your lessons are relevant, interesting and teach both authentic and non authentic texts as well during your le son plans. Change you lesson plans up, so that they are focused on what would bring the best results and receptive skills. Learning can be so much fun, when you make it fun fir your students. Find a singer that they are all typically interested in at the present time, and have the lesson be focused on that. I am sure their receptive skills will be very high, if the topic is interesting, fun, and I believe you, as the teacher, w I'll enjoy and learn something too!
