in this unit, we have examined the different types of tests, as a tool for evaluating the student's language level.
some of the tests are more of a \"starting tests\" and we refer them as \"placement test\" and \"diagnostic test\". these are mostly for new students joining a group or forming a new group. in those cases the teacher and the school will use those tests to know more about the students and arrange them in matching groups. we have also looked at some other test such as practice test, progress test, and external test.
while progress test is mostly for the teacher evaluation, \"practice test's\" main purpose is to face the learners with a higher level of test, challenge them and prepare them for external tests.
there is also Cambridge's university vary of tests, those tests are very specific for certain groups of people such as immigrants in the UK, businessman, different school age and so on.
