Lesson plans need to be both inclusive and flexible. When planning for a topic it is important to build off of previous lessons (with refreshers/review) as well as continue to learn new items. When planning a lesson there needs to be consideration for how long each section will take and any problems that could occur. When looking into potential problems it is also keen to consider what solutions may fix the anticipated problems if they do arise.In this unit, I learned the basics of what this course will entail, and what types of work I may expect to find as a result of obtaining my certificate. I learned about the different types of ESP (English for Specific Purposes) work that exists, and was reassured by the fact that I will not need extensive background experience in a field to teach English to practitioners of that field (although, of course, such experience would not hurt at all.)
