A useful unit, although you use different terminology than what I've experienced. It seems like progress test is akin to a formative assessment. The external exam is similar to the idea of a summative assessment (although obviously there are some significant differences. For one, a summative assessment is done internally).
On a different note, I wasn't very familiar with the range of tests offered by the Cambridge organization. A useful primer.This has been one of the most difficult courses to ever concentrate on. The text was small and it was completely self-guided with no visual aide or anything substantial to make it interesting. I have learned a lot about teaching through this course and how not to teach as a result of it. I will always provide for all types of learning including visual and auditory. You cannot rely solely on reading comprehension skills to teach across the board.
