This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I appreciated the time spent on the previous eight units and enjoyed seeing how the theory, language points and ESA structure are used to form a TEFL/TESOL lesson. It was good to see how the new knowledge I have gained so far can be put into practice. I can see how thorough the sequence of lessons will need to be. For example, in the video, the demonstrator made sure the students elicited each element of the language structure in turn by asking questions such as \"What is John doing...? Explain without using his name\". (Focusing on the structure.) On the other hand, it was also refreshing to discover the importance of flexibility when planning a lesson. In my own teaching practice, I start a new unit/focus with a 'Pre-assessment task' and continually assess my students during the course of the unit (formative assessment). I understand how one may need to constantly adapt their plans to meet the needs of their students, therefore having a 'Plan B' is vital.
