Teaching a new language is not easy, but in this unit i learnt very good options to do it in a very effective way. I also agree with what you say in the unit, about the receptive vocabulary and the productive vocabulary: when you live in a non english speaker country, is very common that you know much more words than what you can use in a conversation. When you travel, you usually understand a lot of what you hear, but the problem starts when you have to talk with other people. So i think it is very important to be aware of what you are teaching, and how this is affecting the students. Many different teaching aids can be used to make the lesson more effective and interesting but also less depending on the text books.
Most commonly used teaching aids are: white board, interactive white board (IWB), overhead projector ( OHP), visual aids, worksheets and work cards, cassette recorders, CD players, videos and DVD's, video camera, dictionaries, course books, resource books, photocopiers and computers.
For all of the above, it is important to know how to properly use them as well as effectively depending on the circumstances of the class room and the language level.
