The content of this unit sets out all the necessary 'ingredients' and recipe for an effective learning experience. The two main ingredients are the teacher and the learners. The qualities of the teacher and the learner directly affect the overall outcome of the course of study. The qualities of the teacher include his or her personality, ability to motivate learners, and his or her overall relationship with the students. The qualities of the learner include age, culture, language level, and motivation. There are several qualities for each, but one of the main qualities of both the teacher and student is motivation. The teacher must be motivated to help ensure her students' success. He or she can do this by studying, recognizing, and ensuring that the qualities which make a successful teacher AND a successful student are present. The teacher must learn the art of combining the various attributes, using roles, teaching styles, and other thoughtful resources, to build and maintain the motivation of the students.
