I very much agree with using test as a way of placing the students in their corresponding English level class. I don't think diagnostic tests are necessary, Progress test can be useful but shouldn't be too often such as every week. Students may select what materials they want to remember or what they think will be in the test in order to pass the test and forget about the other materials. An external test is most important because it assess what knowledge you have and in doing these types of test a certificate should be given.Unit 16: Conditionals and Reported Speech was a straight-forward section, but I can see problems arising when it comes to reported/direct speech tenses. I feel I would benefit further by reviewing the tenses again (and again), so I can remember each of the changes that occur. What I enjoyed most about this section were the teaching ideas for conditionals. Nuclear bunker role play, what would happen if, or statements like if I won the lottery are fun and easily relatable in everyday conversation or in a language learning class.
