This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers the topics of conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences which contain two clauses, the \"if\" clause and the main clause which is the consequence of the \"if\" clause. There are 5 types of conditionals: zero conditionals refer to irrefutable facts; first conditionals refer to \"real\" situations in the future which is possible, probable, or certain if the condition is satisfied; second conditionals refer to a present or future hypothetical situation that is not currently true and unlikely that it ever will be; third conditionals refer to hypothetical past actions and hypothetical past consequences; and mixed conditionals refer to past hypothetical actions and the hypothetical present consequence.
The second part of the unit covers reported speech, and there are many changes that one has to be aware of when changing direct speech to reported speech.
Both of these topics could present some difficulty to learners, especially with the structure, so should be taught slowly and carefully to avoid confusions.
