The fifth unit focuses on an essential skill in teaching: Classroom management. All the elements that are to be taken into consideration in order for the lesson to be effective and the teaching successful are introduced. The teacher needs first of all to know how to behave: how to use his gestures, his voice and his eyes in the most suitable way. Another important thing to consider is classroom arrangement and classroom grouping (from pairwork, to group works to whole class grouping) which need to vary and be chosen in order to enhance the opportunities for the students to talk and participate the class. Students must as well be given individual attention in classroom and all the instructions need to be clear. It is therefore useful to use simple language, be consistent and reinforce the speech with visual clues and examples. The importsnce of establishing a good rapport and of mantaining disipline are finalli introduced and treated in the last paragraphs of the unit.
