This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The present tenses of the English language are explained in a straightforward and formulaic way. Each of their formations is explained from the perspective of the three forms: affirmative form, negative form, and question form. While the usages of each tense may seem pretty clear to a native English speaker, it?s important to really consider these and know how to articulate each use so that one?s teaching can be as clear and efficient as possible. The most valuable part of this unit was the focus on error correction. As a native speaker, it is difficult at times to imagine what errors might be made by ESL learners. Being able to take the most common errors and correct them providing reasoning for such corrections (improper form, failure to contract, improper past participle, spelling, etc.), true comprehension of the tenses and their uses and forms was solidified.
