This unit presented examples of the past tenses of verbs and their usages in various contexts when referencing past actions. The proper uses of the various tenses of verbs included the past simple tense (e.g. I walked), the past perfect tense (e.g. I had walked), the past perfect continuous tense (e.g. I was walking) and the past perfect continuous tense (e.g. I had been walking). The various conjugations of the the verbs included both regular and irregular forms in conjunction with the necessary auxiliary verbs used for proper speech, (e.g.'had' walked, 'was' walking, 'had been' walking). Memorization of the conjugations of the auxiliary verbs, regular verb forms as well as irregular forms of verb conjugation are a requirement for standard spoken and written forms of the English language.
