In this unit I have learned of the intricacies of formulating a lesson plan. It is important to set goals in the beginning, so that one can reflect upon, to see if the desired results were achieved at the end of the lesson. A lesson plan can also aid the teacher in keeping with the time of the lesson available, not stray off the targeted approach and provide for flexibility. In order to have a good, fulfilled lesson, a teacher needs to be prepared and organized with all the materials and equipment necessary, as well as the seating arrangements in the classroom. It is always a good idea to use an ice-breaker in the beginning (engage) phase to keep the students interested and to elicit what they may know about the subject matter. This should be followed with reinforcement exercises in the study phase and end with an activation phase and provide feedback.
