This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered several grammar structures. Modal verbs (such as ?might,? ?should,? ?need to,? etc.) add meaning to the main verb in the sentence. Modal verbs describe varying degrees of intensity. For example, depending on your immediate need, you could either say ?May I have some water?? or ?I must have some water!? In the present and future tenses, modal verbs are followed by a verb in its base form. This unit also introduced passive voice. Passive voice changes the focus of the action and is typically used when it is unknown or unimportant who performed the action. Sentences are made up of clauses, and there are three types: independent clause (complete sentence), dependent clause (not a complete sentence), and relative clause (dependent clause that modifies a noun). There are also three basic types of phrasal verbs: transitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable. Phrasal verbs consist of the main verb plus one or two particles, which together operate as one action.
