This unit touches upon the issues of class management and teaching methods.
Class management deals with the issues of seat arrangement and how it will impact the students' learning experience. The seat arrangement also will affect the student interactions as well as the interaction with the teacher.
Teaching methods are mainly about how the teacher should carry him or herself in the classroom. It guides us how to appropriately approach the students, when is it appropriate to stand and when to be seated. How much attention the teacher should give to the student, and how to handle discipline issues in the class.
Again these methods are malleable according to the students' age as well as the class size. Dealing with younger students' might tend to have longer teacher talks time, while dealing with adult learners it is easier to facilitate student to student activities that will reduce student talks time.
In conclusion, teachers need to know what age group they are teaching and what is the class size in order to create a positive learning atmosphere.
