This was an excellent lesson for reinforcement of what methods, what tactics I had used in not only my two years of volunteering as an ESL teacher at two separate Hispanic community centers in Cleveland but also from my 20+ years of coaching rowing. I thought maybe I was overplanning and then underplanning as I set out goals for the class, activities with a time attached to each, and problems to overcome. I did not always get the activities in that I had planned out but that was the flexibility this unit emphasized, the \"not be rigid teaching style.\" I truly enjoyed the thinking on my feet and changing the activities in such classes to meet the needs of the students and the goals of the class.
