This unit covers the importance and structure of evaluation and testing of students' progress. There are three ways to assess a student's language level, which are tutorials, evaluation by the students and tests. The tests itself is divided into six types of tests, such as placement test where we can ensure student's level prior to their enrollment in an EFL course, progress test which should be used periodically to gauge what language has been acquired and a balance of all 4 skills and grammar as well as vocabulary, diagnostic test which is sometime a more extensive version of placement test, practice test, general external examinations such as IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC and also Cambridge Assessment.
