What I've learnt is that motivation and understanding are very important skills in teaching, especially when dealing with the youngest. First of all, this is due to the fact that kids are forced to go to school and learn new subjects, therefore they could percieve it as an obligation and then refuse to learn as an act of rebellion. In this cases it's up to the teacher to bring up new activities to encourage the kids' curiosity and learning desire. Second of all, every student has his own unique way of learning and understanding topics, therefore a good teacher should be able to recognize everyone's ability to provide a better teaching customized method, in order to have a homogeneous class in the end.
