In this unit we have watched two videos, both of an English class delivered to the same group of students. The aims and objectives of the class were the same in both videos and the worksheets given were partly the same.
Contrasting and comparing the teacher behaviour in both videos, it can be seen that an open, friendly attitude is vital to the creation of a positive learning environment within the classroom. Also, appropriate examples of target language and activity outcomes result in less 'teacher talk' and greater understanding. A variety of activities in the study and activate stages maintain student interest and questioning skills and simple clarification of instructions/ expectations are vital.
