As teachers, we employ different methodologies to effectively teach the target language. We can use Grammar-translation which is really helpful to the student because it promotes easier understanding although the downside of this method is that a teacher has to have a good grasp of the student's L1 to be able to use this method effectively and accurately. Aside from this, we have some other methods such as Suggestopaedia, Audio-lingualism, Presentation Practice Production, Task-based Learning, etc.
There is surely a lot of methods of teaching to choose from but we have to be mindful that we have to consider our personality, the culture of the students, and their needs in deciding which method to use.
