In this unit I learnt that there are many ways you can setup your classroom and every way has pros and cons. For example individual tables is good for one on one teaching allowing the teacher to help each student with their individual problems but prevents the teacher from maintaining eye contact with the whole class. I learnt that not only do you need to establish rapport between student and teacher but also between the students themselves as it helps keep them engaged, interested and of course makes the lesson enjoyable. When giving instructions it is important to use simple language that is below their level of English so that they can focus on the task and not misunderstand what is being taught.
