This unit gave information on how to teach students of varying levels of experience. Young beginners require a very different approach to learning English than an adult business worker. Children have shorter attention spans and need to be praised and catered to in order to keep their interest. Adults are often more motivated to pay attention because they decided to learn English on their own or it is required for a job. The differences between teaching a monolingual class versus a multilingual class were also gone over at the end of the unit. Ways in which to avoid using the mother language of students in a monolingual class are very useful in order to encourage students to use English in the classroom.
