Assessments and testing are an important and integral part of the learning process but they mustn't be used too often. It is important to test and evaluate every area of the student's learning accurately which I believe is best accomplished with outside resources and materials either from the English book they are using and following or with external evaluations. For me initially I believe weekly informal assessments would be most beneficial to evaluate the students progress and learning retention and to decide what in what areas the students are confident and proficient and what areas will need more work and attention. This will assist in making lesson plans and progressing with the course curriculum.
