This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I found this unit extremely interesting as I have never thought of breaking down pronunciation of words as I did during this module. I really enjoyed learning about the phonetic alphabet and I feel like I will look at dictionaries a completely different way now / actually understand why the phonetic alphabet is there. I also found the intonation section interesting as being from New Zealand our accent lends us to finish sentences on a rise even when it is not called for. Having lived overseas and being interested in language I can recognize this and know that it is not technically correct (people often think we are asking a question when we are not). When I teach overseas I will have to keep this in mind.
