this unit was about what makes a good teacher, the reasons why a student may take an ESL course and what motivates them to do so. I have learnt about the different roles a teacher plays and how that can translate to having a successful class, and the importance of being able to build a rapport with students to raise trust between both parties which will ensure both teacher and learner are getting the best from one other eg. student willing to trust the teacher would ask more questions and be confident that they would not be \"put down\" for asking something and the teacher benefits because it means they can give more details, or see that maybe they need to change teaching tactics dependant on the question.
