This unit outlines the differences between authentic material and created materials that can be used to teach a class. Authentic material is material generated for everyday usage by native speakers of the language being taught. Authentic materials are good to use with more advanced students to keep them interested in learning and give then confidence in there learning. Created materials are produced by the teacher to make learning more easy by removing complicated language the student might not yet understand. Created materials work good for beginners and can be used through out the learning process to increase understanding. Many options are available in regards to available course books and learning aids.
