English language has different verb tenses that sometimes can create problems to students. The different structure from the L1 can lead students to make mistakes above all for tenses such as the continuous forms. In the present, they often forget to put the -S in the third person singular, and in questions and negative forms they often forget to use the auxiliary. Also the irregular forms can create some problems, because they have to be learnt by heart and memorized. Because each tense has to be used to transmit the right information (when the action happened, if we want to specify the moment or we want to focus on the action), it is useful to study them and understand how to use them and how to form them.
