In this unit I have learnt to differentiate the various types of examinations I can choose to apply for different situations. Knowing that there are placement and diagnostic exams is very comforting as it allows the teacher and the school to assess professionally where I student is best placed.
through progress and practice tests their is opportunity for the students to establish a confidence in what they have learnt, and for the teacher to learn areas of class weakness. This is valuable to then adjust the learning schedule.
External exams are also wonderful as it allows the students to gain an objective evaluation for placement in work and further study that is not only reliant on the language school tests.
