This unit is all about teaching vocabulary, grammar and functions. There are many things to keep in mind when teaching this to a student. For example; Similarities to the students own language, spelling, usages, appropriateness and many more. Students need to know the meaning of the word, where it belongs and how it is pronounced.
There are different ways to teach this for each phase. For example; in the engage phase discussions and pictures are a good idea. In the study phase it will be a good idea to use gap fill activities or matching exercises. And lastly, in the activate phase, roll play and debate exercises are the best.
It is the teachers responsibility to know when to use which teaching techniques.
