I learned about the four forms of the present tense: present simple, present perfect, present continuous, and present perfect continuous, as well as the three function of each form: positive, negative, and interrogative. I learned about the uses of each form, such as describing routine using present simple, or describing a developing situation using present continuous. I also learned about common mistakes made by students, such as confusing present perfect with present prefect continuous forms, or using verbs that don't take the continuous form when attempting to use the present perfect continuous form. Finally, I took note of ideas presented in the material for how to engage students with these different forms.
