This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was on conditionals and reported speech. I learned that there are zero, first, second, third, and mixed conditionals. I knew this subconsciously but now can identify and label their differences. I learned why it might be confusing for students to distinguish between the first and second conditional as well as between the third and mixed conditionals. Understanding their differences may help me design activities that present these two types of conditionals side by side and clarify why they are different. I also learned the rules for changing verbs from present speech to reported speech. Again, I do this without thinking but now have rules and a more clear idea of how to present this to English learners.
