This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit explained the considerations a teacher should undertake when forming lesson plans. The entire chapter emphasized flexibility, which I believe is one of the most important qualities of a good teacher, as the lesson will probably often not go exactly according to plan. I do wish that the lesson plan went into more depth with the kinds of activities teachers can utilize in each of the ESA phases. For example, this test asks questions about multiple activities within one of the phases, and I found myself unsure as to the order which would be the most beneficial for learning. Would a gap-fill exercise be more beneficial before or after an elicitation exercise? I hope to learn more about this in future units.
