Obviously there's a big difference between school-age students and adults. There's also a difference in whether one is learning the language for work or school, so we need to be aware of the way to address and motivate the different types of students. Younger students may pick up new language quicker than adults, but they could be less motivated since possibly the course is being forced on them. Adult students may be more motivated, but they will be more tired and spent by the time they arrive in class, making it more difficult for them to pick up new concepts. All students, however, will participate and learn more when the teacher has figured out how to engage them and connect with their motives for learning.
