This unit looked at the basics of lesson planning. I thought it was very useful to break down the different important aspects of a lesson plan however I also appreciated that it acknowledged lesson plans should not be too rigid. The ability and necessity to alter a lesson plan due to developments within the classroom is something I strongly agree with. I found that the unit helped reinforce my understanding of the Engage, Study, Activate process as I got to think about it in the context of a lesson. I found it interesting that the unit touched on planning a sequence of lessons. This is something I am very interested in as I hope my lessons could flow into each other and form a type of socially conscious curriculum.
