Unit 19 is about teaching special groups. The unit covers teaching beginners, individual students, children, business English, and multilingual groups. Teaching these groups can be similar, but depending on age, English level and motivation, can differ greatly. For all groups I learned you should give clear instructions, be aware of the student’s needs, and to adapt to the situation. Teaching children may be vastly different than teaching business English. The main differences between these would be age and motivation. The students in a business English class tend to be older (although age can vary from 20- 50+ years old), and may not have the energy after working all day to go over a lot of material per class.
