This unit has taught me the difference between receptive and productive skills. Both equally important and should all be incorporated into an English lesson. It is easy for a lesson to become centered around one or two of these skills however, it is important to try and incorporate all four, reading, listening, speaking and writing, in the lesson. I have learnt that we as individuals read or listen to certain information for a specific purpose and there are ways in which we read information, from predicting the content to skimming through an article to reading an thoroughly. I have also got an idea of how to conduct a lesson on receptive skills from the example provided as well as from the take material ideas provided
