Heading in to my teaching position, I've assumed that the equipment available to me will most likely be basic at best. I'm expecting a blackboard, workbook/coursebooks, and visual aids. However this unit impressed on me that it might be useful to also have amenities like a cassette player, so that students can hear other voices speaking their target language ( as opposed to just mine ). Other aids also struck me as useful, such as the overheard projector, which, I remember from my own schooling days, are a great means of doing a worksheet with a class. With a topic like reported speech, for instance, I can see a group worksheet exercise on a projector being a good way to accurately communicate right and wrong answers.
