This unit is focus on how different teaching methods to be used by teachers in teaching English language. Although it is good to have some basic knowledge on all those methodologies mentioned in this unit, I personally feel that teaching methods are very subjective. It depends on the teacher’s personality as well as the learner’s age group, backgrounds, etc. I think it is extremely important for teachers to be able to switch from one method to another whenever they find difficulties managing the class. It really needs a lot of teaching experiences to understand this. Which teaching methods to use is not so important as long as it is effective for a particular group of learner to be able to follow the lessons.
