This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit, I learned the importance of productive skills - speaking and writing. Within this subject, I learned the difference between fluency and accuracy activities, and in which stage to use them. I was also surprised to learn that penmanship was of little importance when teaching writing skills. From my international experiences, I noticed a culturally uniform handwriting in more than one culture. With this in mind and depending on where I teach, I feel that my students may expect their handwriting to be just like mine (or whatever their point of reference is) as well as just like their peers'. In this case, I think that stressing penmanship may be more important in some cultures, while less important in others.
