This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 11 introduces four learning skills, receptive: reading and listening and productive: writing and speaking. Unit 11 focuses on the receptive skills and lets us know that receptive skills can be categorized in 2 ways, for entertainment or for a purpose. These categorizes aren't exclusive and a lot of our receptive activities can occupy space in both simultaneously. Depending on the reader/listener's goals for reading he/she may utilize a varied list of skills to extract what he/she needs from the text. From a teaching standpoint we learned ways in which these receptive skills may present challenges and how to overcome those challenges using ESA methodologies. Finally the unit provided sample lessons on comparisons.
