This unit was a little detail oriented. As planning is an exercise that requires a lot of thinking, searching, researching and consolidation of everything. In my opinion planning is very important because it provides a teacher with a framework and keeps the lesson on track as planned. However, flexibility is inevitable. Sometimes to foster learning and understanding of the topic changes in the plan must be made in the best interest of the students. The lesson planning sheet provided in the unit is very useful as it covers all the areas that need to be included to make the lesson plan and the lesson itself a success. Applying the ESA straight arrow technique seems to be quite universal for all types of learning activities.
