I really liked what was said in the beginning of the unit, saying the grammar is the tree trunk and branches of language while vocabulary is the leaves of language. While both are extremely important, having only one or the other will make the whole process all together pointless. Again the ESA format was suggested and examples were given. Choosing which vocabulary words to teach students can be difficult to do. Somethings a teacher must consider is how relevant the words are to the students he/she is teaching. When thinking of grammar, which can be more complex than vocabulary, one must think of why that structure is being used, when and where to use it, and the meaning of it. Finally, language functions were touched on.
