This unit was an overview of how to manage a classroom by attending to several factors: teacher eye contact and gestures, teacher talk time, groupings of students, chair arrangements, and rapport building. The one tip that will stick with me is not asking for students to respond to a question in order. I have taught classes before and used this strategy and realized students were getting bored. I want to remember to vary who I ask in the future. I also appreciated the notes about where the teacher is to place himself or herself during different parts of the lesson. I tend to be on my feet the whole time walking around and I realize this may not be the best strategy because it may cause unnecessary stress for students.
