In Unit 9, I learnt that lesson planning is very important. It acts like an aid to planning, a working document to refer to during the lesson, acts like a record of what a class has done and which materials have been used. I learnt how a lesson plan should be written down and the basic principles of lesson planning which include the following like; keep it simple, do not try to script the lesson, structure and maintain the same structure, write the anticipated time for each activity, check for balance of skills and to keep it flexible. I learnt how to organize my lesson and what should be included in a lesson plan. Also monitoring of the lesson is of great importance to the teacher to achieve the objectives of the lesson.
