As an individual, i have not had previous experiences in teaching, but as a learner i believed that the most important task for a teacher is to command discipline and bring out the best from students. However, i have come to understand that good teaching involves a lot more than discipline.
Furthermore, i also learned that one quality should not be seen as more important than the other, but focus should be given to some qualities over the other, depending on the type of learners.
Lastly, i never considered teaching as a job that requires quality attributes and a level of sensitivity. This unit has opened my horizon of thinking and i am excited and ready to move on to the next step towards understanding the art of teaching.
